Medical Equipment Associates (MEQA) is a new medical equipment planning firm supporting the healthcare design and construction industry in California. Founded by veteran planners Ian Franklin and Kelly Kephart, MEQA emphasizes the importance of collaboration, communication and innovation in medical equipment selection and design.

We value our relationships and consider it our responsibility to engage projects as a steward of success throughout the lifespan of a design. MEQA isn’t just assembling lists and cut sheets; we are eager to contribute to the larger goals of patient safety and satisfaction, improved workflow and cost reduction not only for the project, but also over the long term for the Owner when the site begins operations. During our tenure at Criterion, we had the opportunity to work with the most dedicated planners, architects and healthcare systems in California. We helped develop service lines, mentor staff and managed a portfolio of highly successful equipment planning and procurement efforts.

Now, after tenures of 15 and 11 years, respectively, we (Ian and Kelly) are lending our own brand of the service to the industry. Our combined capability enables us to provide equipment & budgetary information, design insight, location drawings, procurement/installation, and project management services to the array of in and outpatient care models offered by California's healthcare systems.
